Rope Dart (2018), an original contemporary abstract painting in acrylic and hard pastel by Sacramento artist Douglas Keliiheleua Kleinsmith. Electric turquoise, neon pink, lime green, and violet gestures weave through a richly layered composition of deep burgundy, crimson, and charcoal. Sharp geometric fragments intersect with fluid, ribbon-like brushstrokes, while thin, looping white lines wind across the surface. This 48 x 36-inch vertical abstract artwork combines gestural abstraction, vibrant color contrasts, expressive mark-making, and angular geometric forms against a dark, atmospheric background.
